How would you go about making a baby carriage standing up not just laying down. Im mostly concerned about the cover. How would make that? I was thinking about it on top of another cake 12" round so the carriage shouldn't be too big. 8-10" Any input would be greatly appreciated. I like this one done by cake girls just maybe not so big.

One way to make the cover would be to take a half ball (like the Wilton mini-ball pan), turn it upside down and cover half of it in gumpaste. The body of the carriage would be cut in gumpaste to fit the dimensions of the hood. There are some nice examples on here - go to the galleries and do a search using the term "baby carriage".

This is a baby stroller I made. Not exactly like your picture, but it's all cake made from a 3 inch sphere pan with the sides and top carved off. It's a different take but you could use a larger sphere pan if you want to go the all cake direction.

I was looking at this just this morning, beautiful! Quite an undertaking, but thought you may like to see it.
