What size cake do you usually do for a smash cake for a 1st bday?

I normally do just a 6 inch one to match larger one

A single layer 5 or 6 inch cake or a jumbo cupcake.

I used a 4" double layer iced in buttercream and it was just the right size for those little fingers and not too much mess to clean up! icon_wink.gif The little one still needed a bath afterward, icon_lol.gif but the clean-up was minimal. thumbs_up.gif

(I like the idea of a jumbo cupcake too.)

I like to use a 4" or about that size. Usually they're carved so the size is approximate.
