When you a sculpting your cake do you fill your layers and stack and ice then start sculpting or do you sculpt then ice. I am practicing for a coach bag and now it's like my mind has gone blank. It has been a while so if anybody can help me.
I always, do fillings, stack, then sculpt then ice.
Not sure how everyone else does it. But, this sure works for me.
I agree with nancyg. For a purse, I've used pound cake, which is a bit more strudier for sculpting, with wooden skewers to pin the layers together. Attached is one I did for my daughter.
Thanks. The cake I use was to soft and it crumbed. It was the first time I used this recipe. I know not to use this cake I will stick to old faithful and it is a firm cake.
