Today I fixed cake up to put transfer on, and it felt wet....have to finish this cake now...I have to leave by 1pm. So I go to peel off the wax paper that I always use....I forgot to spray it with pam like I always do before I start my project....

and its peeling off real wet!!!!! any ideas???? Gosh I hope I can save this!!!!

Yes, I just took everything out of the freezer since I had no room and put the whole cake in there, because its already on the cake and it was sticking to the wax paper....

so my sink has all our food! glad DH is not here...lol I hope this works!!!!!

Well I got my cake done, as you can see...the Bc was peeling off away from the cake and staying on the wax paper. I had run out of skin color bc...but I had brown that I had used for his hair....

I patched it up as much as i could and when I got done, it looked like a shadow on the cake!!! and looked good, you couldnt see the damage...WHEW!!!!

My picture is in my photos...can never seem to get them to show up in here, anyone know why?

You should try using parchment paper instead of wax paper. You don't have to spray it because nothing sticks to it. Thats how I do mine! Hope that helps and good luck!

I just looked at your cake and it looks great! However in your description you say you put the transfer in the refridgerator overnite. No wonder it was still wet, it has to be completly Frozen! Put it in the freezer for a few hours and it should be frozen solid, that way it will peel off easily from the paper.

Really? on the refrigerator part, I always was told to put it in the refrigerator and for a quick turn out the freezer....Now I know!!! Thanks so much.

And as to parchment, can you see through it to trace a image mirrored?

Since Parchment is not as clear as wax paper, I copy the image in black & white, then use a black market with a sharp point and outline the copy. When you put it under the parchment, you can see the outline from the marker. It works like a charm!
Regarding freezing the transfer, make sure it's frozen solid before peeling away the paper. The last FBCT I made was on a cake that was supposed to resemble a candy box. It was a larger transfer so I froze the transfer for 2 hours and when it was frozen solid, I flipped it over on my hand and peeled the paper away with my other hand. This enable me to place the transfer exactly where I wanted it. If you're interested, take a look in my photos for the Sour Patch Kids Candy box.
