I made some gumpaste and was wondering is it safe to use on a cake if the recipe uses raw egg whites? And what if someone decided to take a little taste of one of the flowers made with this gumpaste that was used on a cake?
Please share your appreciated thoughts. Thanks

Well, I don't think anyone has ever gotten sick from gumpaste flowers on a cake, or even from eating one. Have no fear! icon_smile.gif

Most of the gumpaste items I make dry so hard that no one would consider eating them.

Next time, you can buy pasteurized eggs if you're worried about it. They cost about triple what regular eggs do, but I use them sometimes when cooking for my dad who has a compromised immune system.
