I am making the following cake, in dark purple rather than the pink:

I am wondering how to get the deep purple color? I am hesitant to dye the fondant myself, as every time I use purple, I worry about the fading. Are there specific brands you'd recommend?
Or should I just buy pre-colored fondant? I wasn't crazy about the color of Satin Ice purple (although I only saw the color on the tub, not the actual fondant).
Suggestions??
Thanks!!

I used the purple Satin Ice for my daughters school cookies. The school colors are dark purple and black. I was concerned about the color on the tub, but the purple inside was indeed dark purple. Fantastic color, easy to work with and I'm a novice.

Here are some examples of Satin Ice purple in action! The color on the label is misleading.

Keep in mind that photos don't pick up purple very well. Some of these pics look like dark blue, but they are deep purple.

Thanks! I assumed that the colour on the tub wouldn't be exactly what was inside.
Thanks for the example pictures, DianeLM, you are extremely talented!!
