I have a question for those of you that have successfully made a tool box cake. I will be making one for my Father In Law's b-day in about 2 weeks and I'm not sure what size cake pans to use or how much cake to use. Especially since this is coming from my own pocket and it's a free cake, I don't want to have to waste a bunch of cake trimming it into the desired size. Can you tell me what size pan you used? I think it's for about 50 people, but not everyone will show up or eat cake so I'm banking on about 40. Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thank you
