Hello I am making a Tiana Doll Cake for a friends little girl and I need some help. I am using the real doll in the cake. I don't have the Wilton pan for this. My question is can I make this without the pan or do I need to purchase it??? If I can make it what size of cake pans do I need.

I made the barbie without the pan. I just used 6-inch cakes and carved. I think I stacked SIX cakes though, she has some very long legs!! I've heard people say that when they used a real Barbie with the pan, they added an 8-inch layer underneath to make it tall enough.

If you have wiltons small soccer ball. I have used half of that, worked great.

I once made it with a Pampered Chef oven proof glass mixing bowl. However, I recently made a Belle cake and used Wilton Wonder mold and it worked out great. If you use a real doll you need to also use an 8" round otherwise the doll will be too big. If you use a doll pick you don't need the 8" cake round.
