I've never made a chiffon cake, but like the idea of a light and not too sweet cake. I want to make a 3D Easter egg. Will it hold up okay? Is it fine for being covered in MMF?
TIA!

Hi, I think chiffon cake is amazing. I am using it all the time, it became one of my favourite recipe. I have stacked chiffon cake with no problem and i am sure it can be carved into any shape and hold well. I torte my 2 inches tall cake into 3 layers and they hold up very well. The layers don't crumble apart when I manipulate them. The cake texture is still light, amazingly. It's the perfect compromise between an angel cake and a white cake. Hope that help!
