I'm sorry I can't find this in using the search feature, but can someone recommend a very smooth cupcake frosting, one that comes out smooth like the icing on glace iced cookies? Come to think of it... can that same icing recipe used on cookies be used on cupcakes?

Do you mean Royal icing??
If so I wouldnt use it, RI dries rock hard
I use normal buttercream for my CCs but it crusts... if your looking for a non-crust recipe maybe you should try IMBC Ive never tried it before but I herad its stays smooth
another tip if you want to search CC its best to use google, just put what your searching for & add "cakecentral " to it it works like charm

Yes, probably the icing like on petit fours. I'm guessing that it's best to dip them to keep the icing in a neat circle? I hope I'm explaining myself well enough...

Yes, that's it! Thank you! I didn't realize it was just heated fondant. I appreciate your help.
