As of now I only use ONE box mix for ONE kind of cupcake. I use a spice cake mix because it's the BEST spice cake I've ever had. I've tried 40 or 50 scratch recipes and none of them are as good as the box mix ( I do doctor the cake mix a bit, I use buttermilk instead of water). Spice cupcakes from scratch are pretty costly to make, with prices of cardamon and all of that going the mix helps me keep my cost down and it's actually one of my most popular cupcakes, lol.

Everything else is made from scratch and I only use cake flour, not all purpose flour.

You use whichever one sells better. That is the answer.
