I want to try the large bucket of buttercream icing sold at Sam'Club and wonder if it can be smoothed using the "Viva" paper towel method. Sam's icing is half the price of the icing sold at King Soopers. Does the Sam's Club icing crust over or does it say sticky? Anyone know?

Yes it can.The white needed a bit longer to crust first, but it did fine. However, I didn't care for the "looseness" of it...too thin. I had to add flavoring to make it "mine"and extra powdered sugar to make it stiffer. I decided it wasn't worth the savings if I had to spend time to mix it anyway, so I don't use the white anymore anymore. I do love, and still use, the chocolate, but it takes even longer to crust.

I like it, you can use the Viva-towel method and works really good. I prefer over others because is not as sweet and the fact that you can add your own flavorings. Look at Quilling and Pearls wedding cake on my gallery, decorations are all fondant but the base is iced on this buttercream

Hope it helps icon_smile.gif
