I have only made chocolate BC by just adding coco powder into the buttercream and I think it's super yummy. One day I want to try the melted chocolate

What do y'all do?

I prefer the melted chocolate only b/c I find that when I add cocoa my icing is dry and I have a hard time getting it to stick to the cake.

Add a little more fat to the icing and that will help with the dryness.

I use the recipe off the back of Hersey's cocoa powder. It calls to add the cocoa powder to melted butter, which I think really enhances the flavor and makes for a darker icing. And boy is it YUMMY!

Melted chocolate, but I only use cooked icings such as french or cooked custard for chocolate. I can always taste the powder.
