I entered a cake competition that is on this coming Saturday. The competition is a fundraiser for a charity. I am donating the cake to be sold. What I am having trouble with is deciding a cake flavor. I have narrowed down my choices to Pina Colada, Strawberry Lemonade and Banana Split. I really could use some input to what you all think.

Ooooh, Piña Colada, although there's a citrus carrot cake recipe here on CC that would knock their socks off! (I know, you really don't need any more input at this point, but I just couldn't resist.)

I think for a fundraiser you should go for the flavour with the broadest appeal...something basic like chocolate - yes, it's common, but it's so common for a reason.

Is your cake the only one being sold, or are there others? If there are other cakes, then definitely go with something interesting. There will be enough of the basics, I'm sure.

My vote is for the strawberry Lemondae. Sounds great!

If your cake is the only one, will be it sold by the slice? If so, then probably yellow cake or chocolate cake.
