I just had a cake disaster!!
I was delivering a cake to a client (who was also a very good friend, thank goodness) and the bottom of the two tiers slid in its box on the drive over. The top tier was basically unaffected, so we were able to place it on a cake plate when I got there.
My question is, do you have a kit along with you when you deliver a cake so you can fix damages? What do you do if it's beyond repair?
Yes, we usually bring my cake box (got it from Michael's) with bags of the icing we used, offset spatula, extra fondant if we used it, paintbrushes and vanilla (to stick things back on). I can't think of anything else right now, but that's the basics! Haven't had anything catastrophic happen to where it was beyond repair, so I'm not sure exactly what we would do!
