Has anyone used the gelatin recipe to make a decoration shiny?

I plan on making a truck cake and want to make it as real as possible and I was thinking of used the recipe for gelatin bows to pour over the fondant tail light and head lights?

Does anyone think this will work or have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure how the gelatin would work but you can the lights with a mixture of 50/50 corn syrup and vodka and it stays shiny. If you need it to dry faster, add a little extra vodka. I did that on my wine bottle and it worked great.

I'm not sure it would work, gelatin shrinks as it dries unless it has something to grab onto. So I don't know if the fondant would hold it's shape or not. I have done the corn syrup/vodka mixture though, and it does stay really shiny!
