So I made the delightful discovery that the area supermarket vegetable shortening still has trans fat in it. I know there has been talk about Crisco changing theirs, so my advice is look on the label of the store brands. In the nutrition section, it'll list the fats and specifically, the trans fat. I overbought just to make sure I didn't run out.
All our vegetable shortening in Mexico has trans fat in it, and I can't imagine they have any plans of changing that!
