Help With Edible Glue

ive just made a snooker table cake and used edible glue (tylo & water mix) to glue the snooker balls in place but ive put a little too much glue in some places and its made the sugarpaste i covered the cake in shiny and stands out like a sore thumb....does anyone know how i can remove edible glue from sugarpaste?

I've never been able to get tylo glue off my fondant. Would it look awful if you made the whole thing shiny? You can do this in any number of ways - with shortening, with alcohol and, probably best in this case, a mixture of vodka and corn syrup.
