Im new and would like a little help with my mothering sunday cake please. So the base is gonna be completely different but the top will be similar to below. How much(in weight) would you use for the daffs? In gum paste/ flower icing/ fondant? Thank you to anyone who's reading this
Hi Nicki, and welcome to Cake Central. It looks like there are about 50 daffodil blooms on that cake, and if each one weight 50-100 grams, then you'd need between 2.5 and 5 kilos (between about 5.5 and 11 pounds) of gumpaste. Of course, this is just a guess, but gumpaste can be kind of heavy. Is there any way you could make just one and see what it weighs and then go from there?
