I bought an edible image for my daughter's Backyardigans cake. I know it's a cop-out, but I'm not ready to attempt licensed characters yet! Any tips from you experts on how to get it on with ease?

If you are using a crusting icing, don't let it crust before you place the image. Once you have the image in place, cover it with a paper towel or parchment and lightly go over it with a fondant smoother.

Or

If your icing has crusted, gently remove the image from the acetate, place it face down on a paper towel and spray it with a fine mist, gently (and quickly) pick it up, not smearing the colors and place it on your cake. Again, cover it and go over it lightly with a fondant smoother.

Or

Remove from acetate and lightly brush piping gel on the backside quickly and gently so you don't tear it. Place it on the cake and go over it with the smoother.
