Does anyone have any hints/tips on covering number shaped cakes pls? I've covered a few now and they just don't get any easier. number 3 being the worst! so many curves so much breakage covering in one piece. tried rolling strip round the base first and putting a top on but just as painful!
I think your method is the correct one. It seems to me all you can do is to cover the seams with buttercream or RI piping or to extrude a fondant rope or braid from a clay extruder to lay over them.
