A lady wants me to make her a cake like the one in the link -

I have never made a purse cake before, can someone tell me how it is done and if there are any tutorials. I told her that I have never done a cake that detailed before and that I cannot do a perfect replicationa and she said thats fine.

Here is a tutorial to help you

Looks like it is about the same directions as the pic you posted - stacking cakes - use dowels for support..
If you google 'how to make a cake purse' you will get a few videos to help!

I have just read the instructions and it seems quite straight forward but that cake is covered in buttercream, not fondant (as I will be doing). From the picture I will be doing, how can I do the siloutette and the metal holder?

She sure did give you a tough cake to start with! I would frost the whole thing in BC and then cover it all in fondant. Fondant will give you the 'give' to make those slopey ends to the bag. The handles need to be made well in advance so they harden. The face you can print out and copy to fondant. The taggle is super simple by cutting out the shape and painting it with gold luster dust (I think) mixed with either lemon extract or vodka. I've only made one cake purse and it was a simple one, but the cake part is all about
just carving. That's the easy part.
