Stacked Buttercream Cake ----Question

When stacking a buttercream cake, how do you keep the buttercream from coming off the bottom layer when taking off the top cake , the frosting on my bottom layer always sticks to the cake circle from the top layer, so therefore there is no frosting on that part of the cake (once its unstacked/cut)

Use a circle of waxed paper.

yes-- Or rice paper. Or sprinkle some powdered sugar over the icing where the next tier will sit.
