I am uber excited as today i ordered the silverwood mini sqaures cake tin and am planning to do some tester cakes this saturday.
I am planning to coat in buttercream and fondant just as i would on a larger cake but my question is.... do you cut you sqaures in half to still create a sandwich with filling?? So it really does replicate a full size cake or would the crumb coat and fondant be enough?

i think it's just your preference. i don't think they need to be torted but there is no reason that you can't
Thanks, i didnt know if people had done these in the past and had a better reaction to the cakes being with or without...
I think i would prefer to torte them but dont want to overkill on icing! will do a batch with and a batch without to gauge reactions
