what is Ganache? is it only melted chocolate? can i use that to cover a cake before i put the fondant?
Ganache is an emulsion of heavy cream and chocolate. There are a number of recipes for it available on the net. Essentially, you chop the chocolate finely and the pour hot cream over it, let it melt and then stir.
You can use it under fondant. Again, lots of info on that on CC and the net.

Yes, you are right Ganache is melted chocolate and cream basically used to
coating cake. definitely you can cover a cake with it before fondant.
