I have been doing cakes for several years....took 3 wilton classes....but struggle with flowers. I need to make large hibiscus flowers for a bridal shower cake in April and have NO idea how to .....please help!

If you're making them out of fondant/gumpaste then an easy way to do the stamen is before making the flowers shape a long thin cone shape with a slight curve and let it dry. When dry dip the end in edible glue and then dip in yellow/gold nonpareils and let dry. They turn out looking like these (may not be the look you want, but for a less formal cake they look fine):
