I have to make 100 sunflower cupcakes and will only have one evening to bake and icing the cupcakes. Would it be faster for me to make the 100 sunflowers out of fondant using a plunger? (I could make those the week ahead of time and just place them on the cupcake). Or would it be just as quick to icing the cupcakes the evening that I am baking?

That is what I did.I made fondant ones a week in advance and then airbrushed some highlights and darker hues...Here is the link..

I think piped sunflowers would take a long time. It's better to make them out of fondant ahead of time if you only have one evening.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking it would be much faster. Off to order the plunger.

I love my plunger sunflowers! They are so quick and simple. Deffintly the way to go for such a large amount and short amount of time. Good luck!
