Hello, my friend is getting married in June and asked me to make her a cake ball tower. I have made cake balls before and cake pops, but never a tower.
My questions are:

How is the tower constructed? What is it made of?

How do you attach the cake balls to the tower?

How do you keep the tower from toppling over when the balls are being removed?

Thanks so much in advance!!

Your pic hasn't attached but if it is what i think it is I would say, best way to go is order a styrofoam cone.

If you want extra cake servings then you'd stack the cone on top of cakes carved to the gradient of the cone. I would then ganache the entire structure and stick the cake balls in on toothpicks.

my suggestion would be to use a styrofoam cone like LisaPeps suggested and maybe attach it to a larger (in diameter) heavy wooden base to anchor it? Also, insert the toothpicks into the cake balls before they dry otherwise they will crack.

Here is one I did.. http://cakecentral.com/gallery/1258445

It's a styrofoam cone glued to a candle holder.. wrap the cone in wax paper and cover in chocolate and stick the cake balls to it with melted choc.. easy peasy.. icon_smile.gif)

If you google croque en bouche or piece de montagne you will get some very helpful info that would work here. These are french tower pastries made od cream puffs and held together with melted sugar. You could probably use royal icing as glue or melted chocolate. Hopes this helps.
