it's hard to say, when asking pricing questions you must also include your location, if you are in urban or rural area, if you are a business (overhead costs of business tend to bump up the price) and the size of the cake in addition to how it's to be decorated and is it a box mix or is it scratch - does it have nuts, raisins and other goodies .....

Even if it is scratch, there are varying degrees of difficulty and ingredients in a carrot cake that can take it to higher levels of the price spectrum. For example, pecans, pineapple, a separate filling, a glaze added betwen fillings, etc. We need more information.
