Help! Filling Is Leaking!

Just filled the center of a 6 inch round cake with caramel...used an icing damn, but the top of the cake is sliding, and the caramel is oozing out of the sides icon_sad.gif

what can i do?

Take it apart, remove some of the caramel, dam with icing so thick you can roll it into a rope. Make sure the level of caramel is well below the height of the dam. Also check to make sure you cakes are level.

thanks! it looks like it may have held. i crumb coated and refrigerated over night. Also, please excuse my misspelling...damn = dam. i was tired icon_smile.gif

Ha, ha! All night I had to keep backspacing to remove the "n." It made me wonder how often I type, "damn" instead of "dam." lol

Keep an eye on it as it comes to room temperature. The problem may only be temporarily fixed by making it cold.
