This sounds like the one that I have. However I wasn't sure the brand. It isn't on the turntable. I bought mine at a local cake supply store and paid like $50.00 for it. I love it, but really wish that it could tilt.

Probably the same thing. I know we would want everything in a turntable, but I had to compromise. If I ever need a tilting one, I'll have to buy the tilting one and it will serve a purpose different from this one.

Originally, I wanted this set:

I like things that you can take apart and that do more than one thing. But I could never get anyone to tell me if it was worthy or not. And I never saw it at a store to check it out. So I decided not to get it. And it doesn't tilt either. I researched this for about 1 year so I couldn't drag it any longer.

Hello everyone!

I realize this is a fairly old thread, but wanna put this out there in hopes of some input.

I've been wanting a cast iron base turntable & I would like some professional insight.

The 2 that I've come down to are:

Ateco- http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BVFYUO/?tag=cakecentral-20

Supera- http://www.staples.com/Supera-CKSR-12-12-inch-Round-Revolving-Aluminum-Cake-Stand/product_1115548

The Ateco has a pin rotating system & the Supera has a ball-bearing rotating system.

Does anyone have any input on these?

I'm leaning toward the Supera at this point, due to Ateco getting some not so good reviews regarding wobbling, as well as the  Supera having a lower price, but I know you get what you pay for. I also think I'll get a smoother rotation with the ball-bearings?

I have a Wilton turntable that I purchased when I first started cakes a couple years ago & I'm extremely disappointed with it & don't want to make the same mistake twice!!

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!
