Headed out today to pick up more of the blue/brown damask fabric I used for the vintage bridal shower cake in my gallery. I'm making a larger dummy version of that cake for a show/contest.

I had to tear my self away from the fat quarter quilting squares. So many patterns & colors that would be awesome for cake. Limited myself to 2 pop-art flower fabrics. Electric pink-green-orange on black and pink-green w/stripes on white.

Now I need a reason to make some fun flowered cakes. icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyone else get inspiration in weird places?

I was walking around taking pictures of the fabrics the last time I was in the fabric store. I'm surprised they didn't try to kick me out.

I do the fabric shops, and paper/stationery and art stores. Plus fashion and home magazines! Anywhere, really!

I'm an avid sewer - so fabric stores are already a danger for me.

Yep - fabric and scrap paper provide a lot of inspiration!
