I am making a Stink Bug cake for my nephew's bday as a joke.

I cannot upload a pic of one on CC for some reason????? But they have a shield on their back and their colors are browns/blacks....and they are muted together.......

My thought is to obviously cover in white fondant, then use gel paste to paint, but I don't know to paint colors like this......if someone could google a pic of astink bug - it's more the brown/black colored ones (not green) - I would so appreciate an artists help in this!!!

feel free to email me at [email protected]

I have to make this cake for Feb 27th..... icon_surprised.gif

I looked at some images of stink bugs and there are lots of different kinds...But if I were doing one of the brown ones, I would use a light brown fondant and then use a paint brush with dry powdered black color to kind of splotch the black in there. The powder will keep it muted looking as opposed to using a wet paint. Hope this helps.

I would use light brown fondant and then paint with brown and blck powder, dry not wet. You will get muted and not shiny that way.
