Can I please have some recipes for a lovely madiera, and amounts for a 10inch square tin.
I have just used a recipe from a book which to be honest I felt although tasted good did not result in a deep enough cake. I am unsure whether I should just increase all the measurements or try a slightly different recipe.

10-inch square madeira
16 oz self-raising flour
4 oz plain flour
16 oz butter
16 oz caster sugar
Creaming method. 175oC 2 hours
