Why Did My Fondant Change Colour????

I mixed some fondant with some gumpaste and tylose to make a bow...let it set to dry and an hour later it has changed from a pale pink to a bright pink!!! I have had colours fade before....but never brighten...anyone have any answers????

red dyes are notorious for being unstable and changing over time. Most people do let the red family colors "cure" for several hours before getting to their true color.

I only just noticed your reply now. I had mixed the colour, covered the cake then a few days later ( with the leftovers so it would match) added gumpaste to it to make the bow. It had plenty of time before I added the gumpaste...I have never had this happen before. The only thing I did differently from usual is I used Satin Ice gumpate as opposed to my usual. I am stumped!
