My sister has asked me to make her 250 cupcakes for her Navy Retirement next month and it just occurred to me today that I need a stand. And of course, i have no i am going to try to make one . Can anyone tell me the sizes of the boards that I would need to fit 250 cupcakes plus an 8 inch round cake shaped like a female Navy hat on top? I would be so appreciative!!!!

I am currently getting a quote for a stand for 230 cupcakes plus top tier cake. I asked for these sizes - includes the approx amount of cupcakes on each tier.

28" / 71cm - 63 cc
25" / 63.5cm - 50cc
22" / 56cm - 41 cc
19" / 48.5cm - 31 cc
16" / 41cm - 23 cc
13" / 33.5cm - 12 cc
10" / 26cm - no cupcakes but will fit 8" cake.

10cm space between tiers, and allowing a 13cm diameter centre support (you can use new PVC pipe/drain pipe for this). My cupcakes are about 2 3/4" diameter at their widest point.

You don't want to go much taller than this, which is why some of the circles will be so big. Otherwise, a usually lovely shot of the bride and groom cutting the cake will involve armpits if the cake is up too high icon_biggrin.gif
