Hello, I have a cake coming up for a little girl that can only be done in buttercream with fondant accents. She wants chocolate buttercream on one tier but she wants the outside to be black with pink stripes. However, I do not have an airbrush. I was wondering if anyone thought that the Wilton color mist in black would work to cover the brown. Having black icing inside of a peanut butter cake doesn't seem appealing to me, so I'd hate to have to use gel to color all the chocolate icing... Thank you all.

Can you fill the cake and then color the icing black?

This is what i would do. And since you're starting with chocolate it won't take nearly as much coloring as if you were dong white icing.
