I am going on a shopping spree and was just wondering what everyone's favorite things they just couldn't live without are? I have many many things on my list but want mostly practical and useful item to add to my inventory and to make things easier. Thanks so much

If you have a BIG budget, a kitchen aid or equivalent stand mixer and a convection oven! More affordable must-haves on my list - a good turntable, silpat mats for fondant work, a good serrated cake carving knife (I like the one i have fom Wilton), a sturdy cake leveler, magic strips for more level cakes, a digital scale, candy thermometer, and a Cuisipro cupcake corer. (just for starts!)

If you can afford it, the more expensive things on my wishlist would be...cricut cake, edible image printer, airbrush system. For the more inexpensive items...soft/sturdy bristled paint brushes, food gel colors, cookie cutters in all forms, mats for rolling out fondant, flower making tools, crimpers, a good turntable, a good bench scraper for applying icing, a good variety of icing tips including a bismark (SP?) tip for filling cupcakes, gallon-size freezer bags for storing fondant and misc., press and seal wrap for wrapping cakes, wax or parchment paper for transfers, a sheet of plexiglas or glass (make sure you tape the edges) for transfers, a nice cake stand or cupcake display stand would be nice to name a few things. Oh and I don't want to forget...a good collection of icing bags for projects that require multiple colors. Dusts are great too. Oh, I could go on and on.

A couple questions? The silpat mat I have looked at them several times I just wasn't quite sure what everyone uses them for. Also what type of turntables do you all favor I have a few wilton one's.
And I am getting my brand new mixer I am so excited waiting I could pee my pants.... No more fighting with my old one that is half dead. I think after all the comments on the agbay Bob might finally get it he has had it bookmarked for like a year now.

i HATE the wilton turntable... i ordered on for like 15 bucks from country kitchen sweetart and I am in LOVE with it!
I use wax paper for fondant accents, and vinyl from joanns (like table cloth material) to roll out large pieces. I think thats what the slip mat is like but im not sure!

- My Melvira roller.
- My turntable.
- My knife I used for leveling .... 16" blade. (Its a carving knife used at meat stations.)
- A huge supply of disposable bags (luv having them handy ... hate running out).
- LOTS of couplers and duplicates of often used tips.
- My 16x24 cooling racks (racks - PLURAL!)

When serving a cake, I HAVE to have my cake cutting comb! I absolutely REFUSE to cut/serve a cake without one. Ever.
