I have a request for a celtic cake featuring Thistle flowers on top. Does anyone have any tips for the purple part of the flower? Or the entire flower? I have never done a Thistle before and wanted to check for any tips that may help before I begin. I would appreciate any advice anyone is willing to give.. Thanks in advance!

You can pipe a ball of icing right on the cake , I use the #12 tip, Then cover it using a #1 tip with small straight lines, from the top to the bottom till I get it as full as I want it. Hope this helps.
