Would you put a filling in cupcakes if you were putting a high domed frosting on top? I am doing cupcakes and thinking about filling them but I am doing a high domed frosting and seems maybe it would be a little too much. Also if they were to be filled the cupcakes would be sitting out awhile at the party and I would need a good filling that could withstand several hrs. out. I made a bavarian cream filling for my daughters bday and really liked it but I don't know if it would be ok sitting out that long. If I were to fill I would fill the day of the party and put the frosting on top. TIA

I always like to use a filling (if my customer wants it). I wouldn't recommend filling it with the same thing you'll be frosting it with (I think that would be overkill.)
