im doing a wedding cake..she wants a ribbon border and piped detail on the layers. anyone have an idea for a simple design to pipe on the sides above the ribbon? ive only done the dots before and im not the best piper for design, so something easy would be great!

What about the S swirls, those are always pretty and don't look super complicated. I don't have very good piping skills but Wilton does have a set of presses that you press lightly into the cake and pipe over, you just have to make sure you use a tip that will cover the impression in the cake.

Have you tried little hearts with a round tip? I think they're so cute and they're so easy to do. You just pipe a blob with a downard tail, then another blob with tail right next to it. Kind of looks like a little tushie. icon_smile.gif

How about tiny dot flowers? 5 dots in a cricle w/one more - different color- in the center.
Can make the petals a 'dot shell'; pull the dot slightly into a shell. makes the flower prettier but just dots does nice too icon_smile.gif
