I have a person requesting a chocolate cake with strawberry filling. Seems to me that would not be very good together. Wondering if I should do a whipped cream with mashed strawberries, strawberry mousse, or something different.. Any ideas? And do you think the chocolate and strawberry will be OK together? Even though she is requesting, I would like to talk her out of it if it isn't going to be good. You know...even though they ask for it, it will be my fault if it doens't taste good.
Thanks!

I've done chocolate cake with strawberry filling and it's good. I actually have a cake for next week and they want that combo as well. Have you tried it?

No I haven't tried it. It just didn't sound very good. What kind of filling did you use? Thanks!

I make my own with frozen strawberrys.

1lb of frozen strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water

Boil until strwaberries are tender then I put in blender and back into the pot.
Bring it back to a boil add 4 tablespoons of cornstarch (dissolve in a 1/4 cup of water) Stir it it will thicken and let it cool.

I'm not good at giving out recipes hope it makes sense icon_smile.gif
