Hi,
I just made sugarshack's bc with Sweetex and for flavoring I put lemon oil and butter flavoring(lorrAnn's) and it tastes good and it has a smooth taste in the beginning. (there are air bubbles in there too although I mixed it for long time ) but it leaves a very oily aftertaste in the mouth. How can I explain it....it kind of separates in the mouth sort of like undissolved fat globules in water.....is this normal? could the sweetex has been spoiled and that's why it is feels so oily? please help icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif thanks thumbs_up.gif

Since sugarshack's icing recipe works as written, and the only substitutions you made were using lemon oil and butter flavoring... I'd say that the problem was with the substitution/s.

I have noticed old Sweetex tastes the same as using straight Crisco. So, that may have been a contributing factor, also.
