What height should each cake be?
What is the best cake recipe to use when covering with fondant

You can do any height you want. Mine are usually 4 inches but I have done them 3" and 6" for a tall tier. Regarding what kind of cake for fondant. I am not sure cause I am all buttercream. Good luck!

Typically each layer is 2" making the overall tier about 4". That is usually what you see, but you are not limited to that. Tiers can be any height you like. icon_biggrin.gif

this will also be determined on what part of the world you're in. In the US 4" is typical, in Europe and other places its 3"
