I've never used marzipan but have seen several decorations made from it and love the result. I've only ever used fondant to make decorations and am curious to know the difference and if marzipan is worth trying for a beginner like me.

Thanks!

Fondant is easier to work with. It much more elastic and you can roll it out thinner which is good for some decorations. It also takes colour better than marzipan. And i also prefer fondants taste over marzipan since marzipan has a very strong flavour.

I have used both and didnt have an issue with either. I made pumpkins out of marzipan and they turned out awesome.

I bought premade marzipan instead of making it.

Good luck

I have used both too . Marzipan is harder to work with . Some people dont like the strong taste . I love it , but fondant is much eaier to work with and to color
