If you are putting the belly cake on a half sheet, do you need a board and/or dowels underneath the belly cake for support? Also...when using a cake underneath, how do you get the dress on over the belly to lay so nice without messing up the cake underneath....

When I did mine on a 10" square I doweled underneath. As for putting the dress on I just did it carefully and had my buttercream super chilled and set so that I didn't make too many marks.
