I need a recipe for thick cream cheese frosting to put on my red velvet cupcakes. The one I have (that I use for my carrot cake) often turns out too thin...I can spread it on...but cant pipe a swirl with it.

To make my icing thicker, I add more sugar. I put in too much cream cheese once and it got all sticky and gooey and I was pretty much unable to work with it.

Less sugar equals the same as more fat or liquid = thin icing.
