I am planing to make some cookies on a stick for the first time, but wasn't sure what size to get. Some of the lollipop sticks are almost 1/4 inch thick and some are 1/8 inch. I want to try the method I read on here about as soon as they come out of the oven you stick the stick in. Not sure if this is the best way or if there is another way? I really don't want to bake with the stick in.

1/4 inch works for me, I also tried placing the stick after the cookies baked and it didnt work, I ended up with broken cookies. I bake them with the sticks in them, I also placed a small round of unbaked dough on what was going to be the back of the cookiesfor more support.

i use bamboo skewers that are about 3/16" thick. I ALWAYS insert after baking, but it has to be done immediately!! don't let the cookies cool at all or the sticks don't go in well, you need the cookie soft still. I push in and twist at the same time and they go in fine.
