I have made the Black Magic chocolate cake recipe many times but I swear each 8" cake only gets about 1.5 inches high. I be darned if I can ever get a 2" high cake pouring the batter in (2) 8" pans.

I know a lot of people use this recipe and I would love to hear how it turns out for others.

Thank you.

Additional note to above post. I uses Hesrheys Unsweetened Cocoa Powder.

I agree. I use 1 1/2 time the recipe and make a three layer cake. The two layer looks a little sad.

sounds like the recipe is made for the standard 1.5" pans that most people buy in stores. I go buy the wilton chart to know how many cups i need for a 2" cake. (so will probably need to make more than one recipe it sounds like)
