I made a lactose free cake & it was sooo soft, it fell apart & i was also unable to ice it. What do I do?? I used a dunkin hinds white cake mix & inplace of the eggs I used ener-G egg replacement. help
Lactose-free does not mean egg-free.
Lactose-free means no dairy products [milk, butter, cream etc] Duncan Hines Classic White Cake Mix contains whey [milk product]. You will have to check if it is allowable.. Other than that, the other additions [oil, water, egg whites] are perfectly okay..
Do you have time to make another cake? If you search for dairy free cakes there are plenty (scratch) online and on this site, some of which I have made previously and although some of them would be too soft to carve I have certainly iced them.
